Read moreAre you 'expecting'? Congratulations! Although this journey is an amazing and wonderful experience, you are most likely observing a few changes happening in your body. In addition to the obvious growth of your tummy, you may also notice possible muscle soreness, swelling, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome and/or many other surprises. A Prenatal Massage at Ste Anne’s is just what you need to soothe those pregnancy symptoms! This treatment is a Swedish Massage by a Registered Massage Therapist, customized to your specific pregnancy needs. All RMT's in Ontario are trained in Swedish massage, as this is the most common type of massage. Ste. Anne's massages are therapeutic in nature and are performed according to your individual needs. Your RMT will begin by discussing your health history with you to customize the treatment to your specific concerns. A pregnancy pillow or bolsters are used to allow optimum positioning and comfort during your massage. An essential oil of pure plant and flower extracts is then chosen by you to use during the massage. All products offered to you are pregnancy-safe. Once you are on the massage table, your therapist will drape the area of your body that is about to be treated in a professional and discreet manner. Modifications can be made at any time to ensure your comfort throughout the treatment. Your RMT will then massage the areas that you have given consent to treat with the pressure that you are comfortable with. The Massage Therapist gears the treatment to your preference, so your feedback is important. Muscle tension, pain and stress are then relieved by the skilled hands of your therapist.
