New Dining Room
What’s cooking at Ste. Anne’s Spa?
Dynamic chefs team up for spectacular cuisine
May 22, 2018 – Ste. Anne’s Spa, renowned for its award-winning services and facilities, is now serving guests in a stunning new dining room with spectacular cuisine created by two new chefs in a new state-or-the-art kitchen.
Chef partners Melody Lake and Benjamin Lewis are turning the heat up in the kitchen at Canada’s premiere destination spa (steannes.com), with flavourful comfort foods and garden-to-table creations. The award-winning spa is well known for nourishing wellbeing on every level, and the new kitchen team and luxurious updates will take the experience beyond guest expectations, feeding all the senses like never before.
This unique culinary relationship has all the ingredients of success, most importantly cultivating a common vision that is delicious, healthy and sustainable. Melody is all about “wholesome, nourishing, from-scratch foods” which compliments Benjamin’s food philosophy to “buy the best and do less. I like the idea of being able to showcase products in their natural form with a little help.”
Facilitating staff to provide the best guest experience possible is what spa founder Jim Corcoran does best. He’s all about teamwork and a chef partnership is just another example of his commitment to fostering wellbeing, diversity and equality – and providing the ultimate pampering experience for guests.
Too many cooks in the kitchen? Not at Ste. Anne’s. Two chefs are better than one and allows for a healthy and sustainable work-life balance and more freedom, agree the dynamic duo. Working together means that at least one of them is always in the kitchen, simmering delights and cooking up memorable culinary experiences sure to rival the spa treatments. Menu planning is an organic, collaborative process where ideas are shared, tested and developed until there’s mouth-watering culinary perfection delivered to guests!
The new dining room is spacious and features spectacular views of the natural beauty of Haldimand Hills, and the kitchen has tripled in size and features the latest updates, even an Urban Cultivator to grow fresh herbs and greens year round. “We are on the cusp of a lot of exciting plans, including an outdoor kitchen this summer and guest cooking classes in the future,” says Melody.
Additional fresh items will be grown and entirely prepared at Ste. Anne’s, and as a member of FeastON, more focus will be on bringing in even more locally-sourced items. Ste. Anne’s is already incredibly self-sufficient: The kitchen is supplied with beef from its own cattle herd, produce from its outdoor gardens and honey from its own bee hives.
There’s no place like Ste. Anne’s. Food is a key ingredient to the spa’s transformative experience that indulges all the senses. Unlike any other spa, Ste. Anne’s cottages offer a private chef experience where your very own chef prepares a delicious 4-course dinner in the privacy of your five-star accommodations.
