Gochujang Beef Sandwich

Elevate your sandwich game with our Gochujang Beef Sandwich recipe! Crafted with braised beef, gochujang sauce, crisp green apple salad and a creamy roasted garlic/sesame aioli, this sandwich is the perfect memorable meal to share with loved ones.

The IngredientsFor The Gochujang Sauce
  • soy sauce (tamari) - 250 g
  • sugar (dark brown) - 50 g
  • sesame oil - 250 ml
  • ground black pepper - 1 tsp
  • fresh ginger - ½” nob
  • rice wine vinegar - 250 ml
  • miso paste - 125 ml
  • water - 500 ml
For The Green Apple Slaw
  • granny smith apple - 1
  • green onion - 2 bunches
  • fresh cilantro - ¼ of a bundle
  • lime - 1
  • honey - 1 tbsp
  • Thai chilli - 2.5 g
For The Roasted Garlic/Sesame Aioli
  • mayo - 100 ml
  • soy sauce - 1 tbsp
  • sesame oil - 1 tbsp
  • honey - 1 tsp
  • green onion - 1
  • roasted garlic - 1 tbsp
Gochujang Sauce for Beef
  • Step 1

    Mix all of the ingredients together.

  • Step 2

    Take 1kg of Beef (Top Butt, Sirloin Tip, Outside Flat or Inside Round).

  • Step 3

    Seer beef and rub sauce evenly and generously over beef.

  • Step 4

    Place in a covered oven-safe dish.

  • Step 5

    Wrap tinfoil over the dish and place a lid on top to create a nice tight seal.

  • Step 6

    Bake in oven at 325 degrees for 4-6 hours.

    Julienne the granny smith apple and the green onions.

  • Step 2

    Roughly chop the cilantro.

  • Step 3

    Toss in a bowl, add the juice from the lime and add the rest of the ingredients.

Roasted Garlic/Sesame Aioli
  • Step 1

    Drain the oil from the roasted garlic and puree.

  • Step 2

    Char and chop green onions.

  • Step 3

    Mix all the ingredients in a food processor until smooth and creamy.

Assembly
  • Step 1

    Take four ciabatta buns and lightly toast them.

  • Step 2

    Spread aioli on both sides of bun.

  • Step 3

    Scoop hot braised beef onto the bun and top with the green apple slaw.
